Subsonic Sound – Projection Mapping
A dynamic 3D-mapped stage installation using custom 3D-printed surfaces and shadow-based animation techniques to create a fully immersive illusion of depth.
Project Overview
For Subsonic Sound, we collaborated with a professional stage designer who utilised cutting-edge 3D printing to build a custom projection surface made of intricate cube formations. Working closely with this physical structure, we digitally mapped each cube individually, using tailored shadows and motion to emphasise their dimensionality. The result was a stage that appeared to shift and move in real-time, cubes seemed to protrude and retract, creating the illusion of a breathing, morphing environment. This synchronisation between physical form and projected light transformed the space into a surreal world where digital and tangible design merged seamlessly.
